The red-shirts and the army have been fighting block-by-block street battles with each group attempting to hold the most important intersections in the city (including Victory Monument, a few blocks from my apartment). The red-shirts also began facing retaliation from non-partisan citizens in certain neighborhoods after the red-shirts began capturing gas-trucks and threatening to ignite them. Meanwhile, the army shut down all the gas stations in Bangkok to stop red-shirts from using the gas to make molotov cocktails.
